Bringing balance to the Force since 1977

Today is my birthday. I am THIRTY. FIVE. FREAKING. YEARS. OLD!

I know I’m not the only person to turn 35, it’s just now I’ve bridged the gap to 40. FORTY! Ugh.

The point of this post is not to lament on my youth, which has been lost for quite some time, but to give a shout out to some other folks whose birthdays also fall on this most wonderful day of the year.

(I didn’t go back further in history because quite frankly I have no clue who many of the people were)

Donald Sutherland – July 17, 1935 – legendary actor, father of the 24 guy.

Camilla Parker-Bowles (Duchess of Cornwall) – July 17, 1947 – probably best known for being a home-wrecking-ho. Yeah, that’s about it. Moving on.

David “The Hoff” Hasselhoff – July 17, 1952 – best known for Night Rider, Baywatch and judging America’s Got Talent. Also, a really bad singing career and shocking displays of gluttony while intoxicated.

(side bar: some real winners on this list, eh?)

Jay Barrs – July 17, 1962 – finally, a TRUE winner born in Jacksonville, Florida, archer, Olympic gold medalist 1988, 1992 and 1996.

I couldn’t find any famous names I recognized born in the same year as me, so I’m going to go out on a limb here and say that MY birth alone was a birth of great significance and yes, yes I did bring balance to the force.

You’re welcome.
